I believe in the human capacities for hope, faith, and optimism. These capacities can be learned. DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) can be a helpful way for many to learn them.  I believe that the learning can take place in an environment that incorporates joy and seriousness.  I believe in the power of the journey to create a more authentic self.   When it comes to understanding Executives, Business Professionals, Emerging Adults, Educators, and University Students, I can relate on multiple levels, because I have been them all and I have worked with all of those populations.  I know about developing hopes and dreams and about creating an action plan to turn dreams into reality.  I understand that sometimes life unfolds itself in a non-linear way and that not all those who wander are lost.

Having attended some of the finest institutions of learning: University of Pennsylvania (BA Economics/History of Art Minor, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude), New York University (MA Psychology, Psi Chi), Art Students League of New York (Fine Arts Studies), Bank Street College of Education (MSEd General and Special Education, Merit Scholar), Fordham University (PhD Educational Psychology, Phi Kappa Phi), I know about how to handle the pressure of high-level academic and professional life and make the most of opportunities, while balancing work and personal life.  As an entrepreneur and a consultant, I help professionals and institutions transform themselves and awaken their potential.  As a member of the first cohort of the Linehan Institute’s Behavioral Tech Comprehensive Training for Independent Practitioners including Dialectical Behavior Therapy Intensive Training, I know about making an firm commitment to learning and practicing DBT.  As a New York State Licensed Psychologist, I know about surmounting hurdles to be able to give professional care.

Having worked with persons of all ages from 4 to 54 with public, private, and parochial educational backgrounds and of varying professional domains in teaching, consulting, clinical, and professorial domains, I have gained a deep understanding of development.  I have learned how to help motivate and guide people towards making changes in their lives.  I have learned how to help people build the lives that they seek and deserve.  I can combine validation with change skills, recognizing that individuals are doing the best they can and that they must do better.  I aim to make the theoretical practical, so that people can learn problem-solving skills with active coping mechanisms to gain traction in their lives.  I enjoy helping people become more mindful, interpersonally effective, and better at emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

As a skilled generalist, I help people thrive by working at the intersection of psychology, education, and entrepreneurship.   I am a recipient of a New York City Department of Small Business Services NYC Business Solutions Success Story Award for Entrepreneurship.  I solve complex problems with integrated solutions by combining therapeutics with strategic planning, marketing, instruction, and research & development abilities. I can help people build and implement systemic roadmaps for innovation by combining vision with action.

Born and raised in the New York City metro area, I have lived my entire adult life in NYC, specifically in Manhattan.  I have utmost respect for all those on a quest to deepen their self-understanding and look to help them on their journey.
