Point of View
Having spent 24 years living and working in New York City, I now reside and practice in Connecticut where I serve clients in New York, Connecticut and Florida and PSYPACT participating states.
I believe that I was the first person to apply DBT in New York City to highly-sensitive, intelligent people who are professionals in business, tech, law, healthcare, the arts & education, emerging adults, or university students. Now I have the ability to help clients in 41 states.
My clients seek to increase their abilities to live, love, and work in their communities. Most of these individuals have achieved a level of success in some domain and now feel stuck, as past treatment modalities may not have been effective.
I work to help them regain and improve their sense of agency, autonomy, competence, and relatedness.
Many of these individuals, who are kind, caring, and strong, have survived high levels of trauma.
These people do have the aptitude to make a high impact in their communities in multiple avenues, which is why I love working with them.
My aim is to help them learn to increase their abilities to be independent and interdependent and to be able to make an impact (which they often do in manners that reverberate throughout their communities and beyond).
I then strive to edit myself out of the equation so that these individuals can live with resilience, joy, and peace.
This work is highly rewarding.
It is my calling.
I believe that the human capacities for hope, faith, and optimism are present in everyone, and that these capacities can be cultivated through DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). This therapy offers targeted, practical strategies to help you reach your goals.
It is exciting for me to help people become more reflective, and more motivated towards, and more skilled at making change in their lives.
I want to give you more options to choose from in various aspects of your life and help increase your skills at evaluating and selecting from these options. My goal is to help you improve your level of resilience, self-concept, self-worth, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. You deserve to find your agency.
