What Kind of Commitment Do I Have to Make?

With DBT Skills Group or individual training, there are weekly sessions covering the four modules of Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance.  Throughout the course, I will teach you how to integrate skills when solving life’s problems, so they work in a more coherent fashion.

In addition to the group, you must also be in your own individual therapy.  Therapy can be with me, your existing therapist, or referrals are available.

In individual therapy, weekly or twice weekly sessions give you the opportunity to reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and learn to integrate skills and coping mechanisms to aim to be more effective and achieve your goals.

In both contexts, there is also the commitment you make to yourself to actively using the skills in all context to improve your life.
