There is a life out there that you want and NYC has it to offer. But, you may be unsure of yourself and how to build a roadmap to make your dreams a reality. Does that sound familiar? Life can be hard as an Emerging Adult. Decisions can be agonizing. You can learn to cope and make the most of it.
Emerging adults face the challenges of developing their identity and growing on personal, social, and professional levels. Often they can feel confused or out-of-sorts, when it comes to making decisions, be they big or small. In emerging adulthood, the culmination of one’s childhood and adolescence can leave one feeling empty or without a place. You can have an opportunity to feel more whole.
Life is dynamic and continuously unfolding. If you are trying to get your life in gear, you are an emerging adult. If you have goals and ambitions and are not sure of how to get from the beginning to the end, you are an emerging an adult. If you feel that your life seems unsettled and that you need to work on an action plan to make yourself feel more complete, you are an emerging adult.
Would you like to feel more mindful and more in the present? Would you like to use your wise mind and integrate your thoughts with your feelings to make good decisions?
Would you like better experiences when it comes to relationships in both personal and professional realms, so that you feel you are making progress in developing a life that has meaning? Would you like to develop relationships in all aspects of your life with a foundation of self-respect?
Would you like to be able to be more comfortable with a full array of emotions and learn how to cope with negative emotions and grow positive emotions?
Would you like to be able to handle distressing situations and engage in actions to take care of yourself, so that you can become more resilient?
Do you ever feel as if NYC offers particular opportunities and challenges that make it both an exciting and difficult place in which to live?
I am offering DBT in NYC for Emerging Adults to teach Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation and Distress Tolerance Skills to help you “Build a Life Worth Living,” as Dr. Marsha Linehan, Founder of Dialectical Behavior Therapy says of the purpose of DBT.
DBT Skills are life skills that some receive through their childhood or adolescence if they are fortunate. You may feel as if you are missing some piece of yourself that could make you more effective in carrying out your life plans. Fortunately, you have the ability to learn them with skills training to try to improve your life.
These DBT Skills groups and individual sessions, which occur in Manhattan, can help you get on a path where you feel that you could have more control of your life’s direction, build a firm foundation for future, and develop a more authentic self. DBT can help you become more skillful and better at problem-solving life’s challenges and enjoying life’s riches.
